New Storage Building:
Lots of work to do we need to have it spray painted the same colour as our clubrooms need to put a step at both doors to make it a little easier to get in also we have done some trenching work to get the power to the new building, and whilst we were at it we did a trench for future lighting upgrade as well thanks to those who assisted at very short notice great team effort to get this task completed.
What a great weekend we had for our August Trial weekend, held on the Saturday and the Sunday with a great entry. The weather was a little unkind to us, but I think the great atmosphere on the Saturday night games was a fantastic evening even though a little chilly, but a great time was had by all. I’m not going to say much on the successes of the weekend as you can read these in the Results section. Suffice it to say, Congratulations to all our members who trialled on the weekend and had great success. It was a great team effort by many club members to run this trial weekend – your support is very much appreciated. Thanks to Sara Crocker for all her help with the printing of our Qualification certificates on Saturday and Sara Reid and Erica Browne for the games and agility cards. Thanks to all those who helped during the weekend. Thanks to the busy team of Canteen helpers who ‘fed and watered’ us all, and a great team of stewards kept everything running like clockwork in the rings. Also, a big thank you to our Judges over the trial weekend a great panel of Judges. I would particularly like to thank those members who came along to this event for the first time and helped us with set up on Friday, or with serving in the Canteen – we hope you had some fun along the way your work was very much appreciated. Thanks also to our council team who got the lights working at the rodeo grounds, so we could run our Games competition under lights and ensuring the grounds were mowed and everything organised for our great weekend. As you will all be aware we have a new storage building on our grounds we are in the process to meet Council requirements now to ensure an easy transition after we as a club was approached to surrender the Rodeo shed for a new Group to take over for a children’s sports group to have as a home base of their own, I believe it is the Stingray Swim Club so we wish them all the best in their new base. Thanks to Simon Fraser for his help with the purchase of this new building and now just getting all council requirements met to ensure we meet all regulation. Welcome to all new members and those who have progressed through the various classes well done to you all.
